It is a sunny start to the week across southern Manitoba on Monday. Most southern regions will enjoy a mix of sun and cloud and daytime highs in the low 20s, which is slightly below normal for mid-August. There is a just enough instability that there is a low chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms across the south by late afternoon into early evening. Rain and showers have returned to northeastern Manitoba on Monday. Tadoule Lake could see up to 20 millimetres by later tonight. Churchill won’t be far behind, with five millimetres forecast this afternoon and up to 10 millimetres more expected tonight. Showers will likely continue in the area on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the week will also get off to a soggy start across northwest Ontario. Showers or thunderstorms are expected Monday afternoon into early evening.
