It is a tradition that spans several generations - the harrow fair! Moreover, it’s a sure sign that summer is winding down and it kicks off this week. Now, the annual fair reached its 172 edition in 2026. The event runs from this Thursday until Sunday – and will be officially opened by now retired AM800 radio personality, Patty Handysides. For the region, it’s an opportunity for the community to come together and experience an authentic rural fair with all the fixings – food, farm animals, amusement park rides, contests, music and more. Organizers stress that the event could not be done without the help of hundreds of volunteers and several community groups. Brian Renaud is the president of the event. He’s anticipating a large turnout like last year. “I think we could expect anywhere between 40 and 50,000 people through the weekend,” said Renaud. “In the four days that we’re going. The Knights of Columbus, they take care of our gates, and sales for us. So, they manned all the gates, and the Rotary Club takes care of all the tickets from the Midway. We have food vendors that are all not-for-profit.”
