A 24-year-old Via Italia shooting suspect has been arrested for the second breach of bail conditions, according to Windsor police. The man, Heydar Alanuz, was originally charged in May 2024 after a shooting in the 700 block of Erie Street. Officers were called to reports of gunfire after an argument between two men on foot and people in a silver Ford escape. Police said Alanuz allegedly fired a gun at the vehicle before running. He was arrested several days later trying to get on an international flight at Toronto Pearson International Airport. He faced multiple gun-related charges. In February 2025, the man was released on bail with multiple conditions, followed by another arrest in October 2025 for allegedly breaching the conditions. In February of this year, Alanuz was released again with conditions, including GPS monitoring and living with his surety in LaSalle. On March 23, the Bail Compliance Unit conducted a compliance check and said the suspect breached terms of his release. Alanuz and his surety, a 29-year-old of LaSalle, were arrested and charged with breaching release order-related charges.
