A Leamington man has won $70,669.10 after winning on a Lotto Max ticket for the March 4, 2025, draw. 64-year-old Michael Schlater said he has enjoyed playing the lottery for decades, playing Lotto Max, Lotto 6/79, Ontario 49, and Instant scratch tickets. “I bought this ticket as part of my weekly routine,” he said. “One day, I went to the store to have my tickets validated. When the clerk scanned this one for me, the lottery terminal froze. That’s how I came to discover I had won big! My wife was with me at the time, and we were both so happy and excited as we looked at the screen.” He added that their children were just as happy. “Being a winner is such an exciting experience,” said Schlater. “Your mind starts racing and you think, ‘what am I going to do with this money?’ There’s so much you can do.” Schlater said he plans to donate a portion of what he won and share with those in need. He bought the ticket at Circle K on Seacliff Drive in Kingsville.
