The Essex Region Bike Tour is back with scenic road routes, peaceful Greenway trails and a lakefront celebration in support of local trail infrastructure. The routes were developed with the guidance and expertise of Tom and Sue Omstead of Share the Road to offer an enjoyable, comfortable and safe experience for participants. “We are thrilled that this year’s 60- and 100-kilometre routes will take riders along picturesque county roads through Essex, Amherstburg, Harrow and Kingsville, while Greenway cyclists can enjoy safe, off-road routes on the Chrysler Canada and Cypher Systems Group Greenways,” says Danielle Stuebing, director of communications. This event appeals to cyclists of all ages and abilities. “It offers a welcoming way to explore the region, connect with other riders and support the trails that make our communities healthier and more active,” says David Robins, Chair of the Essex Region Conservation Foundation. This year’s Bike Tour will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26. Riders can choose from five routes suited to a range of skill levels: 60 km or 100 km road routes, or 15 km, 32 km or 60 km Greenway trail experiences. Funds raised will support local trail infrastructure projects. Registration for the Essex Conservation Bike Tour is open and available online.
