ENWIN has officially taken over E.L.K. Energy Inc. The Town of Essex and ENWIN confirmed the news as the transaction closed on Nov. 28. ENWIN now has full management of E.L.K. Energy. “We are confident that this transaction will not only strengthen infrastructure that E.L.K. Energy Inc. needs to provide affordable, reliable energy, but will also ensure that those needs are met for generations to come,” said Essex Mayor Sherry Bondy. “ENWIN Utilities Ltd. is well-equipped to enhance E.L.K.’s existing operations and infrastructure across its service area.” What does this mean for customers? Essex said this will allow better service for customers in Essex, Lakeshore, and Kingsville. Improvements to service reliability, aging infrastructure, and advanced technology to ensure safe, sustainable, and affordable energy is expected moving forward. Bills will still come under the E.L.K. Energy name and there will be no immediate changes to that process, rates, or service during the integration period. The two utility providers will continue to work independently, keeping the same contact information, hours, and support processes. If you have a question regarding E.L.K. Energy, you are encouraged to reach out to the company directly. “ENWIN is proud to welcome E.L.K. Energy into our family and looks forward to thoughtful, multi-year integration that safeguards reliable service today while building a stronger utility for tomorrow,” said Garry Rossi, president and CEO of ENWIN Utilities Ltd. “This strategic move combines our shared commitment to Essex, Lakeshore, and Kingsville communities, delivering even greater stability and value for customers over the long term.”
