The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) is looking for artists to paint windows for its Winter Fest programming. Artists are asked to submit a brief portfolio that showcases their work and style. That should include photos of previous work in PDF, PNG, or JPEG format, a short description of your artistic practice and related experience, and your name and contact information. Businesses taking part in the program will then choose the artist they would like to work with. A meeting will be coordinated by the DWBIA between the artist and business owner to discuss design and installation. You will paint directly on windows of participating businesses in Windsor’s downtown core. Artists will get $100 for each initial painting. An additional $50 will be given to remove the art, if it is taken off by the artist. The DWBIA is also offering artists to opt out of removal and it will coordinate removal. An adjusted rate is up for discussion for extra large windows. All artists will be alerted via email, and installations will take place from Nov. 15 to Dec. 4. Removal will be completed from Jan. 4 to Jan. 15, 2027. Submissions can be sent by Nov. 13 to dwbia@downtownwindsor.ca.
