Local charities will benefit from donations after ENWIN’s Power of Golf Fore Charity Tournament raised $85,000. The money will go to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation and the Fight Like Mason Foundation, split evenly. It will help offer essential care, equipment, research, and programs that assist families in Windsor-Essex. “This tournament proves the power of community,” said Garry Rossi, president and CEO of ENWIN. “Thanks to the generosity of our partners, players, and volunteers, we’re able to support organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives, right here at home.” The golf tournament raised $82,500 and the evening reception topped the amount up to $85,000. Since the tournament began in 2013, more than $560,000 has been raised for charities across Southwestern Ontario. “The Electricity Distributors Association Western District and the local hydro companies it represents are committed to helping the communities we serve,” said John Avdoulos, president and CEO of Essex Power Corp. “It is through their shared energy and generosity that we come together on the green to support our communities and make a significant impact, this is the power of local hydro.”
