People with allergies to milk protein are being warned about a type of bio-organic chocolate imported from Belgium.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says some Charlemagne Chocolatiers Bio Organic Chocolates may contain milk which is not declared on the label, and that consumption of the products could cause a serious, or even life-threatening reaction in people with milk allergies.

The agency says 50-gram packages sold in plain, cinnamon and coffee flavours are known to have been distributed in Quebec and Ontario, but may also have been distributed nationally.

It says there have been no reported illnesses associated with consumption of the products.

The affected products bear the following UPC codes: Plain Bio Organic -- 5 425001 204014, batch code 6154; Cinnamon Bio Organic -- 5 425001 204052, batch code: 6173; and Coffee Bio Organic --  5 425001 204038, batch code 6175.
