Update: The B.C. Cancer Foundation announced it is ending the annual Tour de Cure fundraiser in October 2024, citing rising costs and increased risks related to climate events and unpredictable weather.
CTV News is once again teaming up with Tour de Cure, presented by Wheaton Precious Metals, for the 2024 event.
Team CTV has supported this cause from day one, and with your help continues to be a force for good with more than $1.7 million raised by some 260 enthusiastic riders over the last 15 years.
We continue this heartfelt tradition in 2024, gearing up to ride from Cloverdale to Chilliwack on Aug. 24, then onward to Hope on Aug. 25. We will train hard, ride hard, fix dozens of flats, apply boxes of Band-Aids, and break all sorts of blisters to prepare. (Sounds fun, doesn't it?)
No matter the obstacles, we are passionately committed to supporting those around us who are impacted by cancer – together, as a team. In so doing we share lots of laughs, make many friends and shed our fair share of tears.
It's an event fueled by passion and hope – the hope to end cancer.
The Tour de Cure benefits the B.C. Cancer Foundation and is the province’s largest cycling fundraiser, featuring a two-day event that provides participants with fundraising tools and guidance, overnight camping and meals, plus mechanical and medical support along the route.
Support Team CTV or commit to riding 200 km and join a community that has raised more than $100 million for world-leading research and innovation at B.C. Cancer.
The Tour de Cure isn’t just about crossing the finish line, it’s an invitation for riders of all backgrounds and skill levels to contribute their strength and individuality to a community that rides as one.
Cycling 200 km is hard, but facing cancer is harder.
