The Future of Journalism Summit May 13, 2026 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The University Centre, 6331 Crescent Road, Vancouver, BC The Future of Journalism Summit brings together journalists, students, academics and media leaders to examine how the craft is evolving amid technological disruption, political polarization, economic strain and global uncertainty. Through keynotes and interactive discussions, the program explores how journalism can adapt and thrive while maintaining public trust and relevance. Designed to foster dialogue and collaboration, the Summit offers practical insights, forward-looking perspectives, and opportunities to connect across sectors. It aims to equip participants with tools and ideas to navigate uncertainty, strengthen public-interest journalism, and build more resilient and sustainable models for the future. This summit is presented by the Global Journalism Innovation Lab, the UBC School of Journalism, Writing, and Media and the Canadian Journalism Foundation and is supported in part by funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
