Conservation officers were called to the Metro Vancouver village of Anmore Monday afternoon after a woman reported being attacked by a black bear on her property. The B.C. Conservation Officer Service posted a statement about the incident online Thursday. “The initial BCCOS investigation confirms a woman and her dog were injured during a confrontation with a black bear on the back deck of her home,” the agency said. “The woman received medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries. The bear had already left the property when conservation officers arrived.” The area is being monitored and the service said it would “respond as necessary.” People in the area are urged to report bear sightings by calling 1-877-952-7277.
