A fire at a waterfront property sent a plume of dark smoke over North Vancouver Wednesday afternoon. District of North Vancouver Fire and Rescue confirmed crews were sent to extinguish flames in the Deep Cove neighbourhood. “Residents and visitors are asked to avoid the area and give responding crews the space they need to work safely,” DNVFR posted on social media around 7 p.m. Images submitted to CTV News show a structure engulfed in flames. Firefighters say the blaze was brought under control by 8:45 p.m. It’s unclear whether anyone was hurt, however B.C. Emergency Health Services confirmed paramedics were not called to the scene.
