One person was hospitalized after a vehicle crashed and caught fire on a northern Vancouver Island highway on Saturday, police say. B.C. RCMP told CTV News that Mounties from Sayward were called to a section of Highway 19 east of the Eve River Bridge at around 12:39 p.m. after hearing reports of the collision. Police said it was a single-car collision, and one of the vehicle’s occupants was hospitalized with unknown injuries. The highway was closed for several hours, and police say the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
