North Vancouver’s Lynn Canyon suspension bridge will be closed to visitors for more than two months for repair work. According to the District of North Vancouver, the popular bridge will shut Oct. 1 and will remain closed until mid-December, when the project is expected to be complete. Construction work will be carried out on the bridge’s east approach boardwalk and staircase, which “have reached the end of life” and require replacing, the district said Thursday. While Lynn Canyon Park will remain open, visitors are advised to be prepared for trail detours and closures near the bridge, alongside periodic closures of the east parking lot off Lillooet Road. Both the Twin Falls Bridge, located south of the planned construction work, and the Pipeline Bridge, located just north of 30-foot pool, will remain open. “For safety, park visitors are reminded to obey all signage and trail closures, and stay clear of work areas,” the statement said.
