Conservation officers are asking the public to avoid a North Vancouver trail network after a man was attacked Monday morning. The man was walking alone on a trail in the Richard Juryn network in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve around 8 a.m., the B.C. Conservation Officer Service said in a social media post. “A bear followed him for some time, despite attempts to scare it away. The bear swiped at the victim’s leg,” the agency said. “Conservation officers responded to the area. No bear was seen.” As attempts to locate the animal continue, the BCCOS is asking people to report bear sightings by calling 1-877-952-7277.
