A motorcycle rider was airlifted to hospital Tuesday evening after a crash involving a commercial vehicle in Abbotsford. Authorities said the two vehicles collided on Sumas Way and Mcclary Avenue around 7:39 p.m. “The motorcycle rider has sustained serious, life-threatening injuries,” the Abbotsford Police Department said on social media. “The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured, remained on scene and is co-operating with police.” The collision closed a stretch of Sumas Way in both directions as police investigated the scene with help from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service, but the highway has since reopened. Authorities asked anyone who witnessed the crash, saw either vehicle prior to the incident on Sumas, or has dash-cam video relevant to the investigation to come forward.
