Ahead of the third anniversary of a man’s disappearance and presumed death in the British Columbia Interior, the RCMP say the investigation remains a priority. Miguel Mack, who was 24 at the time, was last seen on Feb. 27, 2023, and reported missing several days later, according to Mounties, who say “foul play is suspected.” Despite an extensive search in the days after he was reported missing, Mack’s remains have never been found. Police have previously said they believe he was the victim of a homicide, however no details about how investigators came to this conclusion have been provided. In a statement Monday, the Southeast District Major Crime Unit renewed its appeal for information “Investigators are of the belief that there are individuals with knowledge of Mack’s death that have not yet spoken with police. We continue to urge these people to come forward,” said Sgt. Robert Kee, in the statement. Mack’s loved ones are organizing a community walk on the anniversary of the date he was last seen. “The family is encouraging members of the community to come out in support and memory of Miguel,” the statement from Mounties said. The Merritt walk will begin on Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. on the 2000 block of Coultee Avenue and will proceed to the Civic Centre.
