Mounties in Langley say they caught an excessive speeder in a residential neighbourhood over the weekend. On Saturday, a radar gun recorded a Ferrari travelling 124 km/h in a 50 km/h zone near Wagonwheel Crescent and 56th Avenue, according to police. Just under 100 metres away, the radar gave a second reading of 123 km/h. Police impounded the Ferrari for seven days, and the driver, a 48-year-old man from Surrey, was handed a $483 fine for excessive speeding. “Driving at such excessive speeds in neighborhoods where families live and children play is completely unacceptable,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom with the Langley RCMP, in a news release Monday. “We take these violations seriously and will continue our enforcement efforts to keep our roads safe.”
