An earthquake struck northeastern B.C. Saturday evening, according to federal officials. Earthquakes Canada says the seismic event began at 6:30 p.m. Pacific 62 kilometres west of Fort St. John. The earthquake hit at a depth of seven kilometres and its magnitude registered at 4.1. Earthquakes of a similar magnitude also occurred in the region in October and April of last year. “There are no reports of damage, and none would be expected,” the government alert reads.
