Many viewers have noticed a familiar face missing from CTV Morning Live over recent weeks. Weather specialist Marke Driesschen has been away since March due to a health issue – but his family shared some good news Wednesday about his recovery. “After an extended stay and excellent care at Lions Gate Hospital, we want everyone to know that Marke is making great progress,” the family said, in a statement. “He is home now and getting stronger every day. He fully expects to be back on the air – but not until his doctors give him the OK.” The veteran broadcaster suffered a serious fall near their North Vancouver home on March 29, which left him with a “major head injury,” the family said. His absence has been felt by colleagues and viewers alike, said Ethan Faber, CTV News Vancouver’s news director. “Our audiences have reached out to express a tremendous amount of concern about Marke, and so it’s very nice to be able to share this encouraging news from his family,” he said. “We all miss him very much.” Driesschen has been with the station since 2006.
