Several young suspects were arrested after someone drove onto a golf course in B.C.’s Fraser Valley this week, leaving one hole covered with tire tracks. The incident was reported late Monday night at the Falls Golf Club in Chilliwack. In a social media post, the club said Hole 16 will be “closed until further notice” due to the vandalism. “Our team is already working on a solution, and we’ll be exploring options to reopen it as a shorter, playable hole as soon as possible,” the club said. “We appreciate your patience and understanding while we get things sorted.” Chilliwack RCMP said officers responded to a report of a vehicle being “driven in a reckless manner” on the course around 11:45 p.m., and arrived to see a group of suspects leaving the area. “A roadside stop was conducted, and police determined that all four occupants of the vehicle were youths who were exhibiting signs of intoxication,” the detachment said in a news release Thursday. Authorities said the driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and the vehicle was impounded. The other youths were arrested then “released into the care of their respective guardians,” the RCMP said. So far, no charges have been laid in connection with the incident. “Our investigators are continuing to gather and assess all available evidence to ensure a thorough and complete investigation,” said Cpl. Carmen Kiener, in a statement. The RCMP asked anyone with information to contact the Chilliwack detachment.
