A 77-year-old man died in a hospital in northern B.C. on Monday after police found him in critical condition earlier that morning. Fort St. James RCMP say they were notified of a “disturbance” at a home on BC Spruce Road at 2:40 a.m. Arrived and found the man suffering from serious injuries, police say, and he was transported to hospital in critical condition. RCMP say he succumbed to his injuries in hospital care. In a statement, B.C. RCMP Staff Sgt. Kris Clark said, “This appears to be an isolated and targeted incident.” Police say they can’t share any further information but add that an RCMP major crimes unit is investigating the incident. Anyone with any information related to the man’s death has been asked to contact police.
