Police in Abbotsford says speeding was “clearly a trend” throughout the city on Sunday, as the department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit impounded 11 vehicles within 10 hours. One of such drivers was delivering groceries for DoorDash, and was clocked going 117 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Marshall Road, the department wrote in a social media post. Another driver was caught travelling 144 km/h in a 60 km/h zone, near King and Lefeurvre roads Sunday morning, according to police. Police say one of the drivers who had their vehicle impounded for excessive speed was also impaired. According to the Abbotsford Police Department, 163 vehicles have been impounded for speeding so far this year, and 435 impaired drivers have been taken off the road.
