After a brief reprieve from the humidity, hot and hazy weather will soon return to Toronto. A heat warning is in effect for Toronto and most of the Golden Horseshoe ahead of a two-day “heat event.” In its advisory, Environment Canada said the city will see daytime high temperatures of up to 35 degrees Celsius on Thursday, feeling closer to 44 when factoring in the humidity. “Hot, hazy and humid weather will roar in for Thursday. The summer sizzle will stick around through the middle of next week,” CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said. The heat advisory said night-time low temperatures on Thursday will provide little relief, as the mercury is only going down to 20 degrees Celsius. “While daytime high temperatures will not be as extreme on Friday and into the weekend, night-time lows are expected to remain warm throughout,” Environment Canada said. The high on Friday will be near 30 degrees Celsius with peak humidex values near 40. The temperature is expected to dip to a low of 21 degrees Celsius. Environment Canada advised that the heat event could continue through the weekend for some areas.
