Toronto police are investigating after a man walked into a hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound, moments after a separate shooting call at an Etobicoke home in which two dogs were killed. Police say that the man walked into a Toronto hospital with the gunshot wound at around 11:15 a.m. Police say that officers are still working to “determine where the shooting took place.” In a separate post on X, Toronto police said officers also responded to the sound of gunshots in the area of Rexdale Boulevard and Bergamot Avenue about 25 minutes before, at around 10:50 a.m. Officers said an unknown number of suspects were seen running away from the area, and were last seen running through Rexlington Park. Police say that they have since found a shooting scene inside of a home where two dogs were found shot. Toronto Police said Monday that the dogs died, but in an update on Tuesday, they issued a correction saying the dogs are alive and receiving treatment for their serious injuries at a veterinary hospital. Police say that it is not clear whether the Etobicoke shooting call is related to the injuries sustained by the man who walked into hospital. “We are not able to confirm any connection between the two calls at this time. Any possible links will form part of the investigations,” a Toronto Police spokesperson told CTV News Toronto.
