‘Major delays:’ Hwy. 401 WB collector lanes closed at Keele Street following oil spill

All westbound collector lanes on Hwy. 401 have been closed past Keele Street after a transport truck spilled oil onto the roadway.

The transport truck is currently on the right shoulder of the highway and cleanup efforts are underway.

Ontario Provincial Police say that motorists should expect “major delays” as a result of the closure.

“All collector lanes will be forced into the express lanes,” a post on social media notes.

There is currently no timeline for the reopening of the highway.
