Two teenagers are facing a dozen charges after an electric bike was stolen during a sale meetup in North York on Tuesday. Toronto police said one person met a suspect in a public location near Jane Street and Wilson Avenue to sell their e-bike. The suspect tested the e-bike but did not return, riding away from the area, police said. The victim then called police, and shortly after officers arrived, they located a second suspect nearby. Police said the first suspect was later arrested, and the stolen e-bike was recovered along with a loaded firearm. The following day, police said they searched a home in the same area, resulting in the discovery of a firearm magazine and other firearm paraphernalia. In a news release on Thursday, they said the two suspects are a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy. They cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Both are facing theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The 17-year-old has also been charged with several firearm-related offences.
