Two people from Germany have been arrested after an assault on police at Toronto Stadium this afternoon, police allege. Toronto police said officers and security personnel responded shortly after 2 p.m. to reports of an altercation in the stands during a match between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina. When officers tried to eject a fan, items were thrown at them, police said. “Additional officers were deployed to assist, and the situation was subsequently brought under control,” police said in a news release. Two officers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene. In an email to CTV News, a Toronto police spokesperson said two men that were part of the Bosnian fan group were arrested. They have been identified as 27-year-old Eldar Grabovac and 25-year-old Emir Colic, both from Germany. They have been charged with assaulting a peace officer.
