"It's all about location, location, location - especially for stars attending the film festival and the fans tracking them," says FASHION magazine Beauty Director Adriana Ermter. "The Bloor/Yorkville area is still number one for celebrity shopping and sightings. It's accessible to everything - parties, red carpet screenings. Stars love that. They want things to be easy and seamless as they jump to events."

Hazel

Located in posh Hazelton Hotel, Hazel is big on high-end labels and luxurious star treatment. "It's champagne service all the way," says Sarah Casselman, the fashion market editor at FASHION magazine. Stocked with designer lines stars love (Celine, Giambattista Valli, J. Mendel), Casselman says, "They'll open any time of the day or night for stars who want to shop."

119 Corbo

From Yves Saint Laurent shoes and bags to the hot $800 Dries Van Noten scarf fashionistas are craving for Fall 2008, 119 Corbo serves up an eclectic collection of star-worthy fashions. "This is the spot for celebrity shoppers who want daring statement pieces they won't find at Holt Renfrew," says Casselman.

Plum

Filled with red carpet-worthy shoes, this New York-inspired boutique makes star shoppers feel at home in Toronto. From Hollywould's strappy, embellished stilettos to Nicholas Kirkwood's objet d'art shoes and boots and a vegan line called Mink, Casselman says, "This fun destination is a shoe addict's dream."

Myles Mindham

Statement-making jewelry and luxe star treatment make this treasure box in the Park Hyatt Hotel a celebrity fave. "This stuff is over the top but in the best way possible," says Casselman. From big cocktail rings to jaw-dropping drop earring, "The jewelry and the service here is to die for," says Casselman.

Teatro Verde

A sumptuous mix of fresh flowers, coffee table books, beauty products and home lifestyle accessories make Teatro Verde a big star draw during TIFF. "It's one of the most unique stores in Toronto in terms of home and gift ideas," says Casselman. From India Hicks fragrant Island Living Travel Essentials to Kate Spade decor, "It's got everything any star shopper could want," says Casselman.

Beauty mode

Taz Hair Co.

"This salon rocks the red carpet," says Ermter, the beauty director at FASHION magazine. With a client roster that includes Anna Paquin, Brittany Snow and Lauren Hutton, Taz's artists can transform a deflated TIFF do into an upswept glory in less than 30 minutes. "They're not star-struck and celebs appreciate that," says Ermter. "No one comes close to cutting long hair better. Plus colour stylist Susan Hayward is the queen of blonde."

Pir Cosmetics

A posh beauty boutique filled with the world's most exclusive lines, Pir Cosmetics is a sensory delight for celebs and stargazers. Thanks to owner Franchie Pir, says Ermter, "Pir offers the best skin care products, makeup, hair care finds, fragrances and tools. Any star, male or female, can shop here with comfort." Look for celebrity store sightings at Pir's "Backstage" makeup event on September 11.

Vikaspa

"This spa is like Eden in the middle of concrete Yorkville," says Ermter. Vikaspa's rooftop sundeck is the perfect private hideaway for Brangelina calibre stars to chill-ax with a massage. They also offer a gourmet lunch menu. "Our favourite at FASHION is the arugula salad with parmesan cheese shavings and a light balsamic dressing and the brie and gruyere grilled panini," says Ermter.

Stars looking to revive a tired complexion during TIFF will love Chi Spa's Four Layer Facial says Ermter. "The four different masks are layered one over the other to hydrate and rejuvenate the skin. It'll make any star who has been partying all night or pounding the pavement in their Manolos look 10 years younger."
