Why should you cheer for the Minnesota Timberwolves?

Well, they're pretty excited about 20-year-old Toronto native Andrew Wiggins.

Oh, and they actually answer fan letters when you ask for a reason to cheer for their team.

The Timberwolves were the only NBA franchise to answer a letter from a Seattle teen in search of a new team to root for, after he sent personalized, hand-written notes to every team in the league.

Sixteen-year-old Connor lives in Seattle, a city that waved goodbye to the SuperSonics in 2008, when the franchise relocated to Oklahoma City. Connor says he has been without a team to cheer for ever since.

"I have finally decided that it is time for me to pick a new franchise to root for," Connor says in his letter to Timberwolves president Chris Wright. "I would like to know why you think I should become a Wolves fan."

Wright replied to the letter with a list of 10 reasons to cheer for his team, the top three of which involved star rookie Wiggins.

In his letter, Wright hails Wiggins as a future NBA superstar and expected 2015 Rookie of the Year Award-winner, while pointing out that he was voted the most valuable player at the NBA All-Star Game earlier this year.

Wright also lists Toronto-born prospect Anthony Bennett as another reason to cheer for the Timberwolves.

Connor posted photos of his hand-written note to the Timberwolves, as well as their reply, on Reddit. He also shared images of the signed basketball he received from the team.

"They were actually the team I was rooting for to send me a response because I love Wiggins… and wolves are my favourite animals," Connor said on Reddit.

Connor also posted photos of the letters he sent to the owners of the Portland Trailblazers and Milwaukee Bucks.

All three letters pictured on Reddit were written by hand and specifically targeted at individual teams. Connor also appears to have hand-drawn each team's logo in the bottom corner of the letters.
