GLASGOW, Scotland - Melissa Bishop set another Canadian indoor record Saturday with her victory in the women's 800 metres at the Glasgow Grand Prix.

She finished first in two minutes 0.19 seconds to trim nearly half a second off the mark she set earlier this week in Ireland. Britain's Laura Muir was second in 2:00.70 and Joanna Jozwik of Poland was third in 2:00.88.

Bishop, from Eganville, Ont., had a time of 2:00.60 last Wednesday at the AIT International Grand Prix at Athlone.

World champion Shawn Barber of Toronto was also victorious, finishing first in the men's pole vault by clearing 5.89 metres. Britain's Luke Cutts was second at 5.70 and Poland's Robert Sobera was third at 5.60.

Also Saturday, Paralympic champion Markus Rehm leaped 8.10 metres to win the long jump in his first appearance at an IAAF indoor event.

Rehm wants to compete in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro this year, and the German is attempting to prove to the IAAF that his carbon-fiber prosthesis does not give him an advantage over able-bodied rivals.
