Carey Price can do no wrong.

Besides backstopping the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-1 win over the New York Islanders on Saturday night, the Habs' goalie also made a young fan's night by posing for a selfie during a TV timeout.

The 27-year-old goaltender spotted a young fan in a Canadiens jersey and hat along the boards during the third period at Nassau Coliseum in New York. Price -- a favourite for the Vezina Trophy and a leading candidate for league MVP -- skated over, raised his mask and leaned in for the snapshot.

After Price returned to his net, the young fan could be seen sporting a sizeable grin.

Chants of "Car-ey, Car-ey" echoed through the Islanders' arena, as a large contingent of Canadiens fans cheered on Price for a save on a power play in the third period. He lost his shutout bid on a goal from New York's Josh Bailey, but finished the game with 35 saves.

Montreal is tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with Tampa Bay, thanks to in large part Price's play.

The Habs' keeper is leading the league in several major goaltending categories, including goals against average (1.91), save percentage (.936) and wins (38).

And on Saturday, the coaches from both teams were not shy in lavishing their praise on Price.

"Carey Price was Carey Price," Canadiens coach Michel Therrien told the Associated Press. "He's a dominant player and a special player."

Islanders coach Jack Capuano said that the Price was playing like an "MVP"

"He made three or four saves that were outstanding that could've changed the game around," Capuano said.
