This summer’s earworm by the son of a Canadian actor topped the list of this year’s most-downloaded songs on iTunes, Apple announced this week.
Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell was this year’s top-selling song, followed by Avicii’s Wake Me Up and Stay by Rihanna.
When it comes to albums, the Lumineers’ self-titled record clinched the top spot, followed by Eminem’s latest release The Marshall Mathers LP2 and Night Visions by Imagine Dragons.
A highly addictive game, meanwhile, took the title as the most popular top free iPhone app: Candy Crush Saga.
Instant picture messaging app Snapchat came second, following a year of major growth among teen users.
Snapchat, which was the reported target of an unsuccessful takeover by Facebook, lets users send private picture messages to others. The images are visible for a few seconds before the app deletes the file.
The official YouTube app was the third most-popular free iPhone app.
Apple’s tablet users are just as fond of Candy Crush, which claimed the crown of being the most-downloaded free iPad app this year.
YouTube and Skype came second and third, respectively.
