Deschambault Lake RCMP are asking the public for help locating a missing man with a cognitive disability. On Sept. 6, RCMP received a report that 42-year-old Ernest Ballantyne was missing. He was last seen on Viney Lake at about 3 p.m. on Sept. 5. Several groups are searching for Ballantyne, including the RCMP’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft System and Search and Rescue, Prince Albert Grand Council Search and Rescue, and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency. Ballantyne is described as standing five-foot-six with a medium build. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and is missing some teeth. In an RCMP media release, he’s described as ‘having a cognitive disability, and may seem to be younger than his age.’ He’s known to travel to Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Winnipeg, Creighton/Flin Flon and Norway House in MB. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
