The newly rebranded Sask Jazz Fest is getting a financial boost from the federal government.

Formerly known as the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, the festival will receive more than $42,000 from Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan).

“This funding from PrairiesCan is incredibly helpful to us as an organization, and will enable us to cover the costs of the rebrand project’s final steps,” said Shannon Josdal, executive director of Sask Jazz.

Organizers say the funding will help with projects including a new website, signage, and a refreshed logo.

“Sask Jazz is an incredible event that brings people together from all across Saskatchewan and creates lasting economic benefits for the community,” said the Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada.

“By supporting local tourism and unique cultural experiences, we’re helping local businesses grow and strengthen Saskatchewan as a dynamic and welcoming place to live, work and visit.”

Sask Jazz Fest runs July 5 to 11 at various Saskatoon venues, with the TD Mainstage in Victoria Park. Headliners include Noah Cyrus, Bruce Cockburn, and Modest Mouse.
