The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) Major Crimes Unit (MCU) is investigating what it’s calling a suspicious death in the city. It comes amidst an ongoing search for a missing teen. Police originally noted in a media release Thursday afternoon that they were conducting an operation in the 300 block of 40th Street East. In an updated release at 11:00 p.m. Thursday, PAPS says it’s now investigating a death. The search was conducted as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 14-year-old Peyton Flett. PAPS MCU and Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate, alongside the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. An autopsy is scheduled for Aug. 18, to determine the identity of the deceased, and a cause and manner of death. Police say the case remains an active suspicious death investigation, and updates will be provided as they become available.
