A 23-year-old man is facing multiple firearms charges after a taxi driver was allegedly threatened with a gun in Prince Albert early Tuesday morning. Prince Albert police say officers were called to a home in the 800 block of 15th Street West at about 2:45 a.m. after receiving a report that a taxi driver had been threatened with a gun while dropping off a passenger in a back alley. The driver was not injured. Police attended the residence and set up containment around the home. Several people left the home, including a child who was assisted by Mobile Crisis, police said. A 23-year-old man matching the suspect’s description was arrested without incident. Police believed another man remained inside the home, prompting a high-risk response. The Prince Albert police emergency response team along with patrol officers, the canine unit and RCMP were called in to assist. Following the execution of a search warrant, officers located a man inside the home and took him into custody. Police say they also recovered the gun believed to have been involved in the incident. The 23-year-old suspect has been charged with 13 offences, including several firearms-related charges.
