Saskatchewan RCMP have cancelled a critical alert warning of a dangerous person with a gun on Red Earth Cree Nation, after a man was found dead Thursday. According to a SaskAlert issued shortly after 3:30 p.m. Thursday, people were asked to find a safe location, lock their doors and stay away from the Red Earth Cree Nation area. A 34-year-old man from Red Earth Cree Nation was found dead at the scene by EMS. His family has been notified, and victim services are being provided. He will not be identified at this time. The death was considered suspicious, and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit has taken over the investigation. Investigators believe there’s no threat to public safety. An increased police presence is expected in the community as the investigation continues. Red Earth Cree Nation is located about 380 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
