A WWE Hall of Fame ring for the legendary British Bulldog has been recovered after being stolen in Lloydminster this week. Harry Smith, who wrestles under the ring name Davey Boy Smith Jr., was touring western Canada with Canadian Wrestling’s Elite (CWE) when several sentimental items were taken in a break-in of the wrestling promotion’s trailer during a stop in Lloydminster early Wednesday morning. His father, Davey Boy Smith, also known as the British Bulldog, wrestled in Japan, the then-World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Championship Wrestling throughout the 1990s. The British Bulldog was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020, when the ring was given to his family. “I usually wear this ring for wrestling events like the CWE tour, you know, appearances in Japan and all over to share this, great and cool piece of history from my father’s legacy,” Smith said. The suspects stole clothing, belts, jewelry and a collection of wrestling memorabilia. Most of the stolen items, including the wrestling gear, were later recovered in a nearby alleyway, but the ring was still missing when CTV News caught up with Smith in Saskatoon on Thursday. “The Hall of Fame ring is appraised at tens of thousands of dollars, depending on who you ask. But it’s the sentimental value,” Smith said prior to the recovery. “They’re going to rat themselves out and hopefully try and sell it, and they’re going to get caught.” As it turns out, Smith was right. According to an update from the British Bulldog’s official Facebook page Smith runs, the ring was recovered after an attempt was made to pawn it. Smith said from there, police were contacted, and brought the ring “back where it belongs.” “Thank you all for your help and getting the word spread on this matter!” Smith wrote.
