Students at the University of Regina will soon be able to enjoy a drink on campus, as the Study Bar & Grill is set to open later this month. The development was jointly announced Monday by the University and URSA, the student association that was formed last year. The Study is set to open in late April in the Riddell Centre -- at the site of the previous campus bar, the Lazy Owl. The University classified the opening as a “continuation of the university’s efforts to revitalize” its on-campus dining options and improve student experience. “The Study Bar & Grill will provide a much-needed space for student clubs and associations to host events both big and small, many of which have had to pause with the absence of a vendor in this space,” the announcement read. The Lazy Owl was closed after the University of Regina terminated its lease agreement with URSU, the school’s former student’s union, in 2025.
