Regina police arrested a pair of suspects earlier this month after a break and enter resulted in two people being treated for head injuries. The city’s police service said officers were called to the 3500 block of Dewdney Avenue at approximately 4:15 a.m. on April 2, for a reported break and enter. When they arrived, officers found two victims who had suffered head injuries. Both were treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to hospital. A short time later, officers found a man in a vehicle near 1st Avenue North and Edward Street who matched a suspect description from the earlier call. Police say the suspect possessed a gun at the time of his arrest at around 5:10 a.m. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition. A second suspect was arrested more than a week later. On April 9 at approximately 5:25 p.m., officers located the individual entering a business on the 900 block of Albert Street and took them into custody without incident. A 35-year-old man is charged with breaking and entering, assault with a weapon, armed robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm, possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, and two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. He made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on April 2. A 29-year-old woman faces charges including breaking and entering, assault with a weapon, armed robbery using a restricted firearm or prohibited firearm, and failing to comply with a condition of a release order. She made their first court appearance in Regina Provincial Court on April 10. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
