A second Denny’s restaurant will be opening in Regina soon, according to the Southland Mall. The diner-style chain already has a Regina location off Victoria Avenue – but another will soon be moving onto the grounds of the Southland based on an update posted by the mall’s Instagram account. “We’re excited to welcome Denny’s to the Southland Mall family,” the post said. Outside of the food court, the mall itself does not have any restaurant space - but the surrounding property does. Currently, a Montana’s location and the recently-reopened Chop Steakhouse operate restaurants near the mall. Two vacant restaurant properties have hosted a variety of tenants over the years. The most recent was an Applebee’s, which closed in 2024. Another vacant building closer to Chop was once home to a Swiss Chalet, which no longer operates anywhere in the city. It’s not clear exactly where the new Denny’s will be located or when it could open. “The doors aren’t open just yet, but trust us, it’ll be worth the wait. Stay tuned for opening updates,” the Southland Mall’s post said. Regina’s breakfast scene has added two new national competitors into the space in 2026: Stacked Pancake and Breakfast House and Saskatchewan’s first IHOP location in the north and east, respectively. Locally, Mr. Breakfast also reopened this year. A larger list of Regina breakfast spots can be found here.
