The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American running back Darrell Henderson Jr., who spent several seasons with the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams. Henderson Jr., 28, spent five seasons with the Rams after being drafted in 2019. He appeared in 54 games with 32 starts, racking up 1,854 rush yards and 15 touchdowns. His time with the Rams also included a championship win in Super Bowl LVI, winning a championship. In college, Henderson Jr. was a star at Memphis from 2016 to 2018, capturing the Jim Brown Trophy as the top running back in the U.S. after leading the NCAA in yards per carry in his final season as a Tiger. The Mississippi-born running back has not played professional football since being cut by the Rams in 2023. Henderson Jr. joins a Rider running back room led by A.J. Ouellette that also includes Thomas Bertrand-Hudon, Albert Awachie, Mario Anderson Jr., and Peny Boone, another recent signing. Rider training camp typically begins in early May, but exact dates have not been set.
