The Saskatchewan Roughriders are down two of their top players on each side of the ball, with running back A.J. Ouellette and defensive back Rolan Milligan Jr. heading to the six-game injured list. Ouellette left last Thursday’s loss to Edmonton with a knee injury. He was a non-participant all week for Riders’ practice, although was still around the team assisting in drills and other activities. In Ouellette’s place, rookie back-up Quali Conley will make his third start of 2026. In his previous two appearances this season, Conley rushed for 107 yards on 20 carries and one touchdown. He has averaged more than five yards per carry. Conley has added three receptions on five targets for 17 yards. On the defensive end, Milligan returned last week for his first game since exiting the Riders’ season opener June 13. He spent six weeks on the injured list with a shoulder injury. However, Milligan left Wednesday’s practice early and did not participate in on-field team activities the remainder of the week. The CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2024 has returned to the six-game injured list – this time with a knee injury. Meanwhile, receiver Samuel Emilus (foot) is listed as a game time decision Saturday. The two-time 1,000-yard receiver missed Saskatchewan’s first two practices this week but was a full participant for Thursday’s closed practice. If Emilus cannot go Saturday, former University of Saskatchewan Huskie Daniel Wiebe is expected to start in his place. Kickoff Saturday in Edmonton is 5 p.m. Sask. time on TSN.
