Regina Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help as investigators continue to look into a violent assault that left a man seriously injured in Victoria Park earlier this year. The incident occurred on April 14 at approximately 3 p.m. near the Cenotaph in Victoria Park. According to Crime Stoppers, the victim was sitting on a park bench when he was approached by two Indigenous males riding bicycles. Investigators say the shorter of the two suspects allegedly pulled a knife from the front pocket of his hoodie and stabbed the victim. The suspects fled immediately after the attack and were last seen riding northwest toward 12th Avenue. Officials say the victim did not know either suspect and had never seen them before. Investigators also believe the victim did not provoke the assault. Crime Stoppers noted that several people were present in the park at the time of the incident and may have witnessed the attack or observed the suspects before or after it occurred.
