Three men are facing numerous weapons-related charges after a traffic stop in Regina. A member of the Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) Unit stopped the vehicle around 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 26 near 6th Avenue and Robinson Street after noticing unusual driving behaviour and an unregistered plate. After the vehicle stopped, the officer noticed movement inside consistent with the occupants moving or shifting seats and when they approached the car, no one was sitting in the driver’s seat. The officer found a firearm on the floor of the rear seat while speaking with the three occupants. All three were arrested without incident. Police also seized a firearm, two knives and a single round of ammunition from the front console. All three men face charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle. The 33-year-old man also faces several other charges related to release, probation and firearm prohibition orders. The 46-year-old man faces two additional counts of possessing a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. All three men appeared in Regina Provincial Court on August 27th.
