A 40-year-old Regina man is facing several charges after allegedly throwing rocks at vehicles and assaulting police. Officers were called on Oct. 26 to the 2100 block of Anaquod Road at 1:55 p.m. following reports of a man throwing rocks at passing cars. Upon arrival, they located a man matching the suspect’s description and took him into custody. The man became uncooperative while being escorted to the police vehicle and began repeatedly spitting at officers and attempting to hit them with his elbow. A search after the arrested uncovered stolen merchandise with price tags still attached. He is charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer, as well as theft and mischief under $5,000. He will appear in Regina Provincial Court on Dec. 2.
