An early morning call warning of a weapons offence led to charges against four men after a fight ended with multiple people stabbed and needing medical attention. At around 12 a.m. Friday, Regina police responded to the 800 block of Victoria Avenue. The caller reported a man had been assaulted with a bladed weapon. Officers quickly found an injured man at the scene. He was taken to hospital by paramedics with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. Around 20 minutes later, Regina police were notified that two men had arrived at hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds. Following an investigation which included reviewing surveillance footage, police determined the two men were involved in the initial assault. A third man was located at the scene and arrested. Police say the investigation determined the initial victim had been assaulted by three men. During the fight, two of the attackers were stabbed. As a result all four men, aged 46, 33, 33 and 28 face an aggravated assault charge. The first 33-year-old faces two aggravated assault charges while the second faces one assault charge in addition to failing to comply with a probation order. Both the 46-year-old and first 33-year-old have made their appearances in Regina Provincial Court, while the second 33-year-old and 28-year-old are due in court on Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 respectively.
