As the family of missing 15-year-old Brandon Crisp marks two weeks without their son Monday, police say they still have no solid leads or information about his whereabouts.

"It's frustrating to say this but we're not any closer than where we were when we received the witness account that he was observed on the trail," Sgt. Barrie Goodbrand of the Barrie Police told CTV's Canada AM on Monday.

Goodbrand said the case remains a "priority" for police, who will be out searching for Brandon again Monday -- without help from volunteer search teams.

"We still want to ensure we cover off all that area, in excess of 30 to 40 square kilometres, just to make sure that there isn't anything we leave behind that may lead us to Brandon's whereabouts," he said.

Police have received more than 1,000 tips from across Canada, Goodbrand said.

"Obviously that takes a lot of time to follow up on each one of those," he said. "We're hoping that one of those tips is the needle in the haystack that will lead us to Brandon's location."

On Oct. 13, Brandon left his Barrie, Ont., house following an argument with his parents after they confiscated his Xbox.

Later that day, after his parents reported him missing, police found Brandon's bicycle in a ditch northeast of Barrie.

Police later revealed that a woman came forward saying she spoke to Brandon the day he disappeared after noticing he was having trouble with his bike.

Brandon's parents fear their son may have become mixed up with people he met while playing video games online.

The Ontario Provincial Police are working with Microsoft, which produces the Xbox game console, to identify members of the teen's online gaming clan.

Last week, about 600 people helped police with a ground search, looking through muddy swamps, dense bush and cornfields.

He is described as male, white, 100 pounds, 5'2", with short sandy blond hair.

When Brandon was last seen, he was wearing a yellow and grey jacket, a grey American Eagle-brand hoodie, blue jeans, white runners with a camouflage stripe on the sides. He may also be carrying a yellow and grey back pack.
